Each month SOFO provides financial reports to the officers of chartered student organizations.

The reports are posted to the organization’s shared google financials folder, and an email notification is sent to organization officers. (If you have any trouble accessing the folder link provided, just email SOFO and we will address the issue.) It’s okay to share this folder with other group members – this is a decision for your group leadership.

The reports provided are:

  • Detail Transaction Report (shows all transactions posted to your budget up until the date the report was run)
  • Agency Fund report (if applicable, shows the balance in your Ageny Fund)

The balances on your reports reflect transactions that were posted up until the day the report was run. Use the reports as a reference to reconcile your budget against the receipts and documents you are maintaining for your organization. This makes it possible to find and correct mistakes, and helps your group avoid overspending.

When reviewing your reports, it is important to remember that not all of your most recent transactions may be reflected. Financial transactions sometimes take several days to be completed in the university’s financial systems. (For example, if you bought supplies using a DB Card, then we posted your reports the next day, you likely would not see your supply transaction reflected on the reports.)

The job aids below should help you understand your monthly transaction report. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you should have any questions.
